All is fair at the Fair

Went to the PC Fair 2006 down in KL today. Was suppose to go with a few other people, but they opted out at the last minute. Decided to go ahead with my plan anyways cause I wanted to get that memory stick for my phone at the discounted price they offered.

Woke up early to get on the LRT at 9.15am.

A friendly reminder from the LRT operators for all would be suicide victims. "Please don't make too much of mess when you jump off. TQ"

The Federal Highway as seen from a moving LRT.

The Telekom Tower

Got to KLCC after a 30 minute. Was nice to be at KLCC when most of the shops are just opening. Crowd was relatively small, which made walking around much easier (and pleasent). Was going up to collect the movie tickets (The Wild), when I decided to head outside to take some shots of the towers and the surrounding areas.

Our very own Petronas Twin Towers. There must be a billion pics like this one, everywhere.

Reflections from the water always makes a picture interesting.

Stopped over at Kinokuniya to look at the comic section as usual.

Decided to use macro for this shot. Was surprised by the blur effects.
Great use of depth I'd say.

A Key chain that had a touching message.

A shot of the roof

Met Kat and Caroline at the basement level after 11.15am. Proceeded on to the convention centre from the underground passage. Didn't get to take pics at the convention cause there were too many people moving about to actually get a good shot. Abandoned any idea of snapping quick shots incase someone knocked (either accidentally or purposely) my phone out of my hand.

The first exhibition hall was really jam packed with people. Lots of people seemed to linger on in this area as the subsequent halls weren't as crowded. Bought my Memory Stick from Sandisk at a good price. They even threw in a memory stick reader for my comp.

Followed Kat and her sis through the rest of the exhibition halls. They stopped over the HP booth to buy some ink catridges for their printer. I decided to hop over to the Creative booth to check out the headsets.

The last few halls were not so interesting. Most were small shops hence their booths were very minimally decorated save for a few big names like Kingston, Sony and Apple. Caroline was looking around for a Thumbdrive, unfortunately she didn't find any that suited her.

We proceeded back to KLCC to catch the movie. 'Tapau' stuff from Burger King (so that we could smuggle it into the cinema). Managed to catch the Wild right after the supporting trailer for Cars. Show was kinda below average mainly because of the many "AAAAAAAAHHHHH...get it off me........." slapstick jokes. The story seemed to borrow off from Madagascar and Finding Nemo, but the execution of the story was very sketchy and loosely tied.

Ice Age 2 provided better entertainment overall compared to this disasterous romp in the park. Guess animals are funnier when they face extinction.

Met up Caroline after the movie and followed the girls shoe shopping for the rest of the afternoon. Left for home at around 4.15pm cause Kat's mom informed her that it looked dark outside.

Kat loves comfy shoes.
