One week's toll is very expensive

Yeah, its Sunday again. I can't believe the week passed me by like that. Fresh out from the holidays and into the assignments. I finished one on Friday and now I gotta start on a another two. Seems pretty light considering that other ppl have more assignments due in the coming week. Sigh. Can't quite complaining.

At most these days (since I'm too lazy to do daily blog posts) I can afford to do something like a weekly blog post. I might as well describe some of the stuff that has been on during the week. Let's see....been feeling tired and mostly showing general disinterest in completing assignments. But still wrote like crazy to finish up my GCO3601 assignment ahead of time. Now that I look back on it, that assignment wasn't so bad.

Looking at Applied Micro and Macro Economics plus Case Studies, I don't look forward to them either. Just 3 more assignments to go now. Whee.....

Hmm...what other things have been happening....oh. There was a performance by Liang and Juwita Suwito in uni on Tuesday to promote Campus Radio (some thingy laucnhed by the Communications students). Most ppl were pretty blur, so they didn't bother listening. Not much response.
Campus Radio failed to attract interest, but it did succeed in getting some artists to perform.

Nuclear dawn: Nah, its just the sun rising.

Oh, lots of weird things with the weather these days. A man got struck down by lightning at the field oposite Amcorp mall. Mana tau, I was just there the night before. Didn't think that there was going to be a BBQ the next day. Not sure why the guy suddenly wanted the attention of the heavens. Well, he got it nonetheless.

Twins suns in the field of death: The field outside Amcorp mall. Lil did I know that a man would be smoldering in the middle the next day.

Have been bumming around uni on Friday, waiting for Kat to get her assignment done. Went out to Pyramid instead of Ikea. The highway was super jam. At least 2km worth of bumper to bumper traffic. Ouch.

Things I learned in 3601 class. Thomas O'Daniel is much more inspiring as an art subject than a lecturer.

Kat busy at work on her assignment.

The sun setting on Friday. We had a very late dinner at Pyramid.

Yesterday was more of the same. Planting myself firmly in place on one of the computer lab's many vacant chairs and "diligently" doing my assignment. More reading than writing. Did a lil' exploration in between reading. Went up to the roof top connecting Monash to Sunway. Checked out the classes and took some pics.

The new Monash off in the distance.

This may not be the door to Narnia, but it DOES lead to Sunway.

At Last.....A post

Its been a while since the last post. Stupid line has been unstable over the past few days. The holidays weren't any better too. Spent most of my days rotting at home. Nothing more exciting than uni (though I know my days there are numbered).

Sigh. Life has been busy, despite how bad it is to be busy....I prefer it to be busy. To have something to do. Though the process of doing that something.....isn't so enjoyable. Finishing an assignment that should have been completed last week is never a good thing. Infact, I probably should get started on it now.

But before I depart I shall leave more pics. (Yeah, I'm getting lazier to type, hence the pictures)

Some flowers in my grandma's place.

Some flowers, diff. position.

Ah, the place where I grew up. My grandma's place.

The sun setting on a lazy Sunday evening. On the left is the old block in my school. It's said to be haunted. Boo.

My old school, SMK Abdul Samad as seen from the soon to be destroyed University Roundabout

If you ever go to Desa Sri Hartamas and come across these blokes, avoid them. These bloody pests are offering "protection" for cars parked in their turf. It's said that alot of "bad" things can happen if you don't pay them the "protection" money. Sure, you blood sucking leeches.....sure..

All is fair at the Fair

Went to the PC Fair 2006 down in KL today. Was suppose to go with a few other people, but they opted out at the last minute. Decided to go ahead with my plan anyways cause I wanted to get that memory stick for my phone at the discounted price they offered.

Woke up early to get on the LRT at 9.15am.

A friendly reminder from the LRT operators for all would be suicide victims. "Please don't make too much of mess when you jump off. TQ"

The Federal Highway as seen from a moving LRT.

The Telekom Tower

Got to KLCC after a 30 minute. Was nice to be at KLCC when most of the shops are just opening. Crowd was relatively small, which made walking around much easier (and pleasent). Was going up to collect the movie tickets (The Wild), when I decided to head outside to take some shots of the towers and the surrounding areas.

Our very own Petronas Twin Towers. There must be a billion pics like this one, everywhere.

Reflections from the water always makes a picture interesting.

Stopped over at Kinokuniya to look at the comic section as usual.

Decided to use macro for this shot. Was surprised by the blur effects.
Great use of depth I'd say.

A Key chain that had a touching message.

A shot of the roof

Met Kat and Caroline at the basement level after 11.15am. Proceeded on to the convention centre from the underground passage. Didn't get to take pics at the convention cause there were too many people moving about to actually get a good shot. Abandoned any idea of snapping quick shots incase someone knocked (either accidentally or purposely) my phone out of my hand.

The first exhibition hall was really jam packed with people. Lots of people seemed to linger on in this area as the subsequent halls weren't as crowded. Bought my Memory Stick from Sandisk at a good price. They even threw in a memory stick reader for my comp.

Followed Kat and her sis through the rest of the exhibition halls. They stopped over the HP booth to buy some ink catridges for their printer. I decided to hop over to the Creative booth to check out the headsets.

The last few halls were not so interesting. Most were small shops hence their booths were very minimally decorated save for a few big names like Kingston, Sony and Apple. Caroline was looking around for a Thumbdrive, unfortunately she didn't find any that suited her.

We proceeded back to KLCC to catch the movie. 'Tapau' stuff from Burger King (so that we could smuggle it into the cinema). Managed to catch the Wild right after the supporting trailer for Cars. Show was kinda below average mainly because of the many "AAAAAAAAHHHHH...get it off me........." slapstick jokes. The story seemed to borrow off from Madagascar and Finding Nemo, but the execution of the story was very sketchy and loosely tied.

Ice Age 2 provided better entertainment overall compared to this disasterous romp in the park. Guess animals are funnier when they face extinction.

Met up Caroline after the movie and followed the girls shoe shopping for the rest of the afternoon. Left for home at around 4.15pm cause Kat's mom informed her that it looked dark outside.

Kat loves comfy shoes.

Clearing the air

Phew...what is that smell? That's the aroma of stale posts. Yeah, I have been super lazy in putting up posts recently. Don't know why. Possibly because of the lack of activity and people running about doing assignments. Heh, monotony has set in.

Good thing it is a public holiday. Guess I shall do a picture dump now. It best describes the various events over the past week.

10th April:

Was in uni yesterday for my sole one class with Dr. Muthi (Applied Micro & Macro). Booked a computer for Kat in the morning. Spent most of the day in the computer labs with her. Got a shock when I went back to the lab in the afternoon, virtually everything was dark except the illuminated faces of assignment doers.

9th April 2006:

If any of you (USJ ppl) come across this little restaurant, located somewhere in USJ 10, you just gotta try their Mongolian Chicken. The place serves a fusion of Melakan peranakan style dishes with Chinese dishes and some other various Asian styles of cooking.

This is the interior of the restaurant. Looks like any old Chinese retaurant, a far cry from the decorations found in many new Chinese restaurants today.

The Mongolian Style Chicken from Dine Out.

A few shots of buildings on the way to USJ. Things look pretty different in the evening.

Heh, another shot of a building in the evening. Like this shot alot, without knowing I got a shot of the moon (the tiny white dot on the top of the pic) while I was focusing on the building.

8th April 2006:

Had replacement class on Saturday for GCO3601. Programming with XML sure is a pain in the arse. Thought I should go about uni snapping pics after lunch, since there wasn't alot of people around uni.

A panaromic shot of Sunway Lagoon and Pyramid from the top floor of Monash Uni.

This sign in the cafeteria puzzles me. Do any of you know what does 'buss' mean? I'm stumped....

Sunday punday. It's boring boring boring. What to do on a Sunday. Sit down do my reviews. Play KH 2 in the afternoon. Walk around boring ol Atria. That sums up a Sunday.

Arrghh... so lazy to type. Even this one post I am struggling to keep things interesting. Blah. Gonna make this a picture dump post. Enjoy!

Today:

The Atria shopping mall. The most boring place on Earth.

This used to be Parkson. The wide open space you see, used to have shops lining up against the glass windows. Sigh. Change is a cruel thing.

31st March:

This is the odd model that has been hanging around at One U

The Oval at One U

Italiannes, a cosy lil' Italian restaurant. Nice ambience.

My Dad and bro at the restaurant. We went there to celebrate Jinn Wei's bday.
