The Last Week of Uni....

It's the last week of uni. Can you believe it? After what seems like (not an eternity) a few months, everything slow down as the end approaches. I won't be able to recap much of what happened last week. My weekly blog posts are rather tiresome, but I can't keep up with the blogging as work demands more of my time. Besides for most of the week I was mugging the books.

Can manage a slight recollection of events before I get back to work. Monday, was boring. Not many people around. The guys had gone to the K.L. Motorshow, Kat was still sick at some. So it was just me in uni. Sat for my last Applied Micro Macro class too. Finally don't have to listen to Dr. Muthi anymore.

The carpark was still empty at 8.30 when I got there. Rather surprising.

The first time I managed to get a parking space at the closer end to uni.

It rained pretty hard in the afternoon. A gloomy day it was indeed.

Oh, mom made cookies. A pity the chocolate man slowly lost his limbs. We were eating him piece by piece. Poor chocolate man....

Tuesday, again not that many people. Sat for my very E Commerce tute. Thomas O'Daniel finally putting the stop to all his long hours of lecturing. My ears can finally rest at ease. Heh, didn't help that I wasn't paying attention for half the tute. He decided out of the goodness of his own heart to let us off on Friday. So without knowing, this was my last lecture.

"Blah blah blah dee blah. You can all go now....I'm done".

"I think I can keep up just a little longer....no....brain....losing power......"

Wednesday, don't recall it that well. But I do remember staying back pretty late just sit in Kat's Investment class.

"All right, I asked my Australian counterpart about tips for the exams and his reply was....go fish!!"

Thursday was particularly active. Lots of people around. Infact it was so crowded that the table could bearly contain us.

Shook's stuff. Last time having my usual Thursday morning chats with her.

This was also the day that I sat for my very very very last class in Monash University. Sad to say it was Applied Micro Macro, so it wasn't all that memorable. Just confusing.

Whew, then came Friday. Boy, it was a long week. Lots of pages turned and I was closer to getting a migrane than understanding some economic concepts. But it all ended well. Had no class today, but I stayed on from morning till night. Went back around 8.

You can't see from this pic, but the guys were in matching colours. Black and White. Yeah, it don't matter if you're black or white.

(P.S. : I was joking on making orders for South Park book marks. I could ask, but no promises)

Rolling on the exam days

Well, it is the second last week of the semester. The assignments are well over and the study period begins. I always hate this part of the course. The feeling of liberation from assignments is robbed when the realization that the finals are coming hits me. Though I never liked it, I feel kinda sad knowing that this IS the last strecth. Everything falls on what I've worked for the past 3 weeks for the finals.

One can tell that you are affected by the exam fever if you keep finding yourself having a nagging urge to head over to the library every time you're in uni. Again, I'm not a big fan of going to the library, but there I was at the begining of the week, lookingfor a seat in that over-sized refrigerator. Strangely I find comfort in having myself surrounded by books (that and the guilty feeling I have for not utilizing the library again for the last time).

Studying in the library can be boring.....very boring...

The usual bunch of guys were around on Monday, hanging around the foyer. I figure I might as well plant myself there after the long cold morning. Had lunch alone and it was back to the books.

We all love our books. But we love our sleep even more. Let's not cause any floods whilst we study.

Tuesday was another long study session at the library in the morning. Waited a while for Kat to come up. Had lunch at the Pink Shop. A lil' on the place. I never came to know who started calling it the Pink Shop, but I guess the very fact that as students drowned in textbooks, we seem to label shops by their colour. Even the new corner shop is called the "Orange Shop".

Yay, so marketers out there, remember to choose very striking and vivid colours for your shops.

But aside from that, I haven't really come around to this place that often. Its crowded, stinky and there's always a smoker sitting around somewhere to share his loving "care" with you or blatant disrespect for your health. The food has not always been to my liking. My Hong Kong Yee Mee was a tad on the salty side. But, I must say. Their servings are HUGE.

Skipping over to Friday, my most favourite subject of the sem, E-commerce Infrastructures (yay) was looking a lil' different today. No longers are the tables and chairs in neat little rows. (Shock)....it's...(gasp)....arranged to exam hall settings..... Yeah, this only nails the coffin shut for us students. Just looking at this horrible formation is enough to send shivers to my spine.

Another feature place that I frequent from uni, is the photocopy shop infront of Medan Selera. A tiny lil' shop that was only known to me in my 2nd year, I've always approached this shop to meet my photocopying needs. That said, this place is by far more efficient that the Indian shop in the cafeteria or the library's own photostat shop.

3 cents, how can you beat that? Actually its 3cents for 500 pages, normally you'll get 5 cents per page.

After a whole day's worth of studying, it was off to Pyramid for me and Kat. Went there to watch X-Men 3. It was pouring as we were about to leave but fortunately it ligtened up enough for us to make a quick exit. Had dinners at Dave's Deli before catching the show. The movie wasn't all that good as I hoped it would be. Rather disappointing to see the hype built by the first 2 movies being torn down. There were far too many flashy sequences and less on character development. People just pop up because fans want a worthy mention. By far, there were far too many characters that got such short screen time.

Was in uni on Saturday again. Trying to catch up with some work. But before I could settle down the guys were going off to Pyramid for lunch. Decided to tag along and ended up eating the most expensive bowl of noodles I've had so far this year.

Had dinner at the Curve on Saturday evening. Had it at Cafe 1920 since our earlier choice was full. The dinner crowd at the place was certainly surprising considering that the place is always deserted on weekdays. I guess what it lacks in variety for normal shopping, it makes up in terms of eateries.

The new cineplex is now open for viewing. The place is pretty empty. Like a big empty shell, looked like there's room for more shops to open. Just walked up to the cinema hall to take a look around. Certainly is bigger than the ones TGV has, currently TGV is coming out a the bottom of the cineplex race. I think GSC has significantly improved its establishment over the time TGV got complacent with its market leading place. But with the introduction of this new group of cineplexes, it is certain that things will heat up.

The Wet and the Wild

This week has been really long for me. Handing my super super duper final assignment of my university life, namely my XML programming assignment.....was not such a big deal. But it is without a doubt, an important milestone. From here on, assignments are not weighted by marks......instead its on your performance and competence. If you don't get through life's assignments, you're in for worse things than repeating a semester.

Ok, so enough doom and gloom. The assignment season has finally passed and now the studying season begins, albeit a very short one at that. A mere 2-3 weeks of studies is all I have left at my disposal. Pretty crappy exam schedule, 1st and 2nd day of exams. Back to back, afternoon and then morning paper. I hope its clean and painless as they say it would be.

Wheee...the weekend came and went swiftly. I still had to go to uni on Saturday for my last Case Studies class though. He gave us a good amount of advice, is that right? So its like I'm stuck with this lasting impression of him, is that right? Cause its like he keeps repeating things over and over again, is that right? Yeah, if you sat in there with him, you'd start talking like him, is that....dang....

Then comes Sunday. Went over to Becky's place for her belated bday bbq thingie. Had to pick Kat and Tim up along the way to her place. Was annoyed by the fact that there was no parking in the condo area, but still managed to find a space outside. One that wouldn't invoke the local residents from scratching my car.

It seemed at the time that we were the last to arrive. Everyone else was there already, it was only a matter or getting the fire started. That took a long time, still unsure why we waited nearly 30 minutes for the match to be brought down. Did a lil' exploring at the time and stumbled across the gym.

As the others were attending to the fire, Becks had requested Tim and myself to help fill in some water ballons. Yeah, I saw a water balloon fight coming. Wasn't long till we filled our bucket of doom to the brim.

Having spent some time away from the rest, the BBQ was well under way when I got back. The wieners were roasting and the garlic bread was toasting. Oh, but the best of the lot has to be the chocolate coated marshmellows. Yum..... was absolutely smashing.

The water fight came unannounced and pretty much everyone (maybe a few were "left" out of the festivities) got a bit of water on themselves. As much fun as it was, there were a few mishaps along the way. Mainly the scaring of an innocent bystander and someone having fall into the pool. Fortunately, everyone got through without any injuries. All in all, twas fun!!
